Yes, dogs, cats, birds and fish are allowed, for a nominal pet fee. back to top Is there on-site parking? We have a large gardening area for residents next to our patio. back to top What safety and security features do you have? While St. Joseph is considered a safe, family-oriented area, all of our residents have access to our wireless security response alert. We also have a secure entrance and around-the-clock, on-campus staff. back to top What if there is a fire? We do monthly fire drills to ensure our residents know how to act in case of a fire, and we have two-hour fire walls on all apartments. In addition there are smoke detectors and a comprehensive sprinkler system throughout the community. back to top What if there is a tornado? We have a safe area in case of tornados and other weather emergencies. back to top Is LCOSJ handicap accessible? Yes, we have grab bars and handrails throughout our facility, walk-in showers and ramps in the appropriate areas. And while LCOSJ is not a high rise, we also have an elevator for easy access to the second and third floor. back to to I know you offer a hot breakfast buffet and fine dining services for dinner, what do you offer for lunches? In order to meet the needs of our active residents, the Living Community offers flexible lunch services. We offer a take-away lunch program where you can order lunch the night before and take it with you on your daily activities or enjoy your meal in your inviting apartment. back to top Do you allow smoking? No! We are dedicated to the wellness of our residents and there is no smoking allowed in our facility or anywhere on the grounds. back to top How much say do I have in community life? Our residents help create our monthly calendar of events. We have a residents’ council that helps us guide the direction of the community. back to top Can my family and friends come to visit? Yes! Overnight, short-term guests are allowed and there are a number of convenient hotels in the area as well. It is common to see our residents enjoying the company of their friends and family throughout our campus, and at the numerous local attractions. back to top Can you help me get to my doctor appointments? The Living Community offers scheduled transportation by notice. If your appointment is at a time when our service is not available, we will help you take advantage of the reliable and convenient local transportation. back to top
