LIVING COMMUNITY OF ST. JOSEPH PRESENTS SPEAKING OF HEALTH “THE FACTS ABOUT MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLANS”

August 3, 2005 ---St. Joseph, MO – The Living Community of St. Joseph will present its next Speaking of Health program at 3 p.m. Thursday, August 18 in Benedictine Hall at the Living Community of St. Joseph, 1202 Heartland Road. This month’s topic will be the Medicare Modernization Act: “The Facts about Medicare Prescription Drug Plans.”

Vanessa Cobbins, assistant district manager of the Social Security Administration, will prepare people for the new plan which goes into effect January 1, 2006. She will explain what the new drug plan will cover and how people can join.

Ms. Cobbins has dedicated 35 years to public service and has received the highest Social Security Award twice in her career – Commissioner’s Citation along with the Regional Commissioner’s Supervisory Excellence Award.

Living Community of St. Joseph presents Speaking of Health programs each month to provide current health information and education. The Living Community of St. Joseph is a Member Organization of the non-profit Benedictine Health System, a nationally recognized leader in providing services and care for senior adults. The Living Community of St. Joseph features 49 senior apartments, 32 assisted living residences and a 96-bed skilled nursing care unit.
